Description: The Okanagan Social and Cultural Society and Social Magnet Productions is seeking hard working, fun-filled volunteers to assist with the most decadent social night of the year ~ “Amuse! eat, drink & be social, A Culinary Showcase for Social Foodies”, taking place Saturday, March 4 from 7- 10pm at the KF Aerospace Centre for Excellence.  www.amusekelowna.ca Volunteers must be willing to commit to a 6.5 hour shift from 4:45 pm-11:15pm. All volunteers must be 19 years of age or older. No minors are permitted at Amuse. Volunteers will be asked to perform the following: Attendees ticket entry, Coat check, Wine glass & tasting board distribution Presenter booth maintenance (refilling ice and water pitchers, emptying garbage) Clearing (ensuring cocktail tables and event floor areas are kept clear and tidy) End of event clean up and other misc. tasks as required. Dress code is black pants/skirt and black top (button up top for men). Aprons will be provided as part of the uniform of the night. Free parking! Description: Do you want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by ovarian cancer?   Ovarian Cancer Canada is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to support the 2023 Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope on September 10th. This annual event is the most powerful event of its kind in the country and is the only walk in Canada to direct all attention and fundraising towards helping people with ovarian cancer and those at risk to live fuller, better, longer lives. The Walk is family friendly event taking place in communities large and small across Canada and virtually. This event rallies communities together to support those who have been affected by ovarian cancer and make a difference.   Volunteers are essential to this event, and we need your help! Help create a safe and welcoming community of support for all participants – there are plenty of ways to get involved. Volunteer opportunities include:  Building local relationships by securing sponsorships and in-kind donations  Supporting local event logistics  Using social media to build excitement in your community Leading on-site activations (accepting donations, completing registrations, ensuring participants know where and how to get involved)  Let’s work together to enact meaningful change and help women everywhere. Seeking Vision Mate Volunteers in Kelowna!

Description: Make a difference in the lives of blind or partially sighted people in your community! The Vision Mate program matches people who are blind or partially sighted with sighted volunteers who provide companionship and one-on-one assistance with everyday tasks and errands. Vision Mate volunteers can assist individuals with various activities including errands, going for walks, labelling and organizing household items, reading, or fun outings and recreational activities. Matches are made with someone who lives close to your home, school or work. Visits are typically two hours a week in the person’s home or another suitable place at a mutually convenient time. We aim to match people for a minimum of six months, though there is no maximum time for a match to continue. Ideally, it will continue for years to come, as the Vision Mate relationship often transitions to friendship over time. We are looking for volunteers with the following skills and attributes: •      Trustworthy, patient, empathetic and friendly •      Reliable, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision. •      Excellent communication skills CNIB provides orientation about our organization, the people we help, vision loss, as well as training specific to the position. A clear Police Record Check and two reference checks are required. Must be 18 or older.

It’s impossible to be involved in all situations, but there’s no excuse not to be involved in something, somewhere, somehow, with someone. Make an ounce of difference.
