Volunteers for Okanagan Feast of Fields

Organization: Farm Folk City Folk
Category: Special Events / Festivals
Description: Okanagan Feast of Fields is an annual local food celebration and fundraiser, held each year on a different farm.  Proceeds from Feast of Fields allows FarmFolk CityFolk to develop and operate programs that connect, empower, and inspire people to strengthen BC's sustainable food systems. Feast of Fields is a wandering gourmet harvest festival that strengthens the connections between farm folks and city folks.  With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, guests stroll across farmers' fields, through barns, past tractors and around chicken coops, listening to live music and tasting gourmet creations from top BC chefs, farmers, fishers, ranchers, food artisans and beverage producers. Volunteer tasks range from site setup (tables, tents, decorations, wash stations etc), site maintenance (garbage, compost, ice, water etc) helping our participants with load-in of their food/beverages & props, guest check-in, raffle ticket sales and silent auction duties. Volunteer shifts are divided up so that everyone gets an opportunity to enjoy the event. Okanagan Feast of Fields is Sunday, September 18 with volunteer shifts available on Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18.
