Description: Description Canadian Cancer Society Lodges provide a supportive environment for people with cancer and their adult companions. The Lodges are located near cancer treatment centres. As a volunteer at the Lodge, you have an essential role in creating a home away from home for the clients and their families. You have a positive impact on the quality and enhancement of life for people affected by cancer. Your Duties would include: Promotes a social and caring atmosphere in the lodge, focusing attention and time on lodge guests Greets & provides tours for (potential) lodge guests and visitors. Answers lodge phone, transfers calls, takes & relays messages, data entry for wig room when necessary Facilitates and supports lodge entertainment activities Provides directions to treatment centres, public transportation, shopping etc. Promotes lodge & Canadian Cancer Society activities, & support services Other duties as required Why we need you Play an integral role in the fight against cancer. Volunteer Literacy Tutor Program tutor

Description: Here is an exciting opportunity to become a tutor through the Volunteer Literacy Tutor Program at Okanagan College. There is a short training session, then you will be matched with an adult student to work on basic literacy or numeracy goals. Materials and resources are supplied, as well as guidance for lesson plans. The tutor and student set up the schedule for tutoring sessions, usually 1 to 2 hours per week. Tutoring can take place at the college, or in a public place such as the library or a coffee shop. Summer Soccer Camp Volunteer

Description: About Us: The Royal Soccer Club (RSC) is a non-profit, community organization who has hosted unique soccer camp experiences for over 300,000 children between ages 5 and 13 years. Our camps are now the largest grassroots soccer camp in Canada with over 100 locations in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The popularity of our camps is not only due to our program structure, but also because of the great volunteers and staff we have. Our camp operates Monday to Friday from June 30 until August 29, 2025 (except July 1 & August 4). About the position: Volunteers can apply for: morning sessions (15 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 9:00am – 12:00pm), afternoon sessions (15 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 1:00pm – 4:00pm) or full days sessions (35 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 9:00am – 4:00pm) All nine (9) weeks of July and August are available to volunteer for. Volunteers at our summer day camps may have any of the following responsibilities: Assisting staff with coaching and supervising children at camp Equipment collection and maintenance (ie. inflating soccer balls, collecting cones) General help around camp Maintain a clean camp environment and help staff meet all safety protocols Adhere to and help enforce all camp policies Qualities we’re looking for: Enjoys soccer and sporting activities Great with children (ages 5 to 13 years) Energetic and enthusiastic Responsible and reliable Eligibility: Volunteers at our camp must be at least 14 years of age by the time their camp week of volunteering starts. If you are 16 or older, you may be eligible for a CIT (Counsellor in Training) or Camp Counsellor position with us. Any volunteers aged 18 or older will be required to submit a police background check. There are a limited number of volunteering spots available at each camp location.
