About Food For Thought
We can’t let kids go hungry.
Food for Thought aims to eliminate hunger in children, one child at a time.
Food for Thought serves breakfast in an inclusive environment to over 1500 students a day. Food for Thought is in 30 schools in:
- Kelowna
- Lake Country
- West Kelowna.
Through our backpack program, backpacks filled with food are given to students for the weekends who would go without. This program ensures:
- Hungry tummies are filled when children are not in school on the weekend.
We rescue consumable food waste from local businesses throughout the Okanagan. We then redistribute back into the community through partners, community fridge and public pickup locations.
We have a 1/4acre garden that has been donated to us and we are growing food to be able to hand back into the community.
