The Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC) is a Canadian national youth program sponsored by the Canadian Forces and the civilian Army Cadet League of Canada. Under the authority of the National Defence Act the program is administered by the Canadian Forces and funded through the Department of National Defence.
The Royal Canadian Army Cadets appeal to teenagers craving exciting outdoor activities where their personal limits as individuals and team-members will be tested. The hardcore outdoor-oriented will love the challenge!
Army cadets develop abilities in:
- Use of map and compass
- GPS technology
- Orienteering
- First-aid
- Camping and survival skills
- Canoeing
- Abseiling
- Trekking
- Mountain biking
As they get more experienced, some will be selected for parachuting, white-water rafting and glacier climbing. They will also learn to become outdoor leaders.
Army Cadets get involved in ceremonial military events and citizenship activities that allow them to connect to their Canadian heritage. They develop a great sense of pride and discipline through their involvement in a hierarchical system that allows them to hone their leadership skills as they grow older and they learn to care for younger cadets.
In addition to their specialty training, Army Cadets may become involved in other exciting activities like:
- Competitive Olympic-style marksmanship and biathlon
- Sports competitions
- Music training and competitions
- Cultural outings
- Volunteer community support
Canada represents the best playground for teenagers interested in the outdoors. We are the organization of choice for teens and adults interested in getting out of the classroom to explore the planet the way it should be.
The Army Cadet League of Canada provides funding and support for certain activities undertaken by the Corps. It is represented at the Corps level by a local Sponsoring Committee, which is made up of volunteers who are often parents of cadets. All parents automatically become members of the Sponsoring Committee and are encouraged to assist in whatever way they can.
Responsibilities include:
- Fundraising
- Public relations
- Operation of the canteen
- Special events
- Provision of transportation whenever cadets participate in activities away from the Corps headquarters

The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive began in 2009 in the city of Burnaby to assist the local food bank. It has now expanded province wide and is able to assist dozens of community food banks serving over 50 cities and many thousands of needy individuals and families throughout British Columbia.

Community Care Durham (CCD) is a multi-service registered charitable organization providing a broad range of support services for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers so that people are enabled to maximize their independence and thrive where they choose to live.

However, the person who set up the account is no longer with us and I cannot access her ads, or the email inquiries to her ad. Farm Folk City Folk have been working to inspire and equip people to eat food that nourishes themselves and the planet since 1993. We are BC's largest and oldest food and agriculture charitable non-profit organization.
Feast of Fields is our annual local food celebration and fundraiser, held each year on a different farm in the Okanagan Valley. Proceeds raised from Feast of Fields allow us to develop and operate programs that connect, empower, and inspire people to strengthen BC's sustainable food systems.

Feast of Fields is a wandering gourmet harvest festival that strengthens the connections between farm folks and city folks. With a wine glass and linen napkin in hand, guests stroll across farmers’ fields, through barns, past tractors, and around chicken coops, listening to live music, and tasting gourmet creations from top BC chefs, farmers, fishers, ranchers, food artisans, and beverage producers.

About Food For Thought
We can’t let kids go hungry.
Food for Thought aims to eliminate hunger in children, one child at a time.
Food for Thought serves breakfast in an inclusive environment to over 1500 students a day. Food for Thought is in 30 schools in:
- Kelowna
- Lake Country
- West Kelowna.
Through our backpack program, backpacks filled with food are given to students for the weekends who would go without. This program ensures:
- Hungry tummies are filled when children are not in school on the weekend.
To provide free, compassionate in-home assistance, referral services and access to food security for individuals with socio-economic, mobility, and health challenges. Our vision its to: meet needs – value people – build relationships
