Position Summary: We are seeking Gala Administration Volunteers to provide administrative support and assistance to the Manager of Fundraising and Development. JDRF’s annual Starlight Gala helps raise crucial funding for type 1 diabetes research. By being a part of the administrative support team, you’ll be directly contributing to finding a cure for TID. If you are passionate about helping others, looking to do something meaningful that can make a difference, and carry a positive work attitude, come join JDRF’s volunteer team! Duties include, but not limited to: • Calls to past guests and vendors as needed for follow up of details • Register Gala guests • Send emails confirmations to guests • Thank each contact for their donation via email or thank you note Minimum Commitment: 4 hours/week during the weekday. Must be able to commit until the gala is over on October22. Location: Position is through our Kelowna Chapter. Accountability: • You are accountable to all JDRF staff, donors, and volunteers. • You must maintain strict privacy and confidentiality of all personal information belonging to donors, volunteers, and staff that you encounter during your volunteer experience. • Please arrive for your volunteer shift on time. Qualifications: • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Excellent Customer service skills and phone etiquette • Fluent in English • Must be comfortable with active solicitation of donations from potential donors for items and submission of donation forms by required deadlines. • Education Level: university, university/college degree or higher Desired Candidate Traits: • An interest in the not-for-profit sector • Experience volunteering in other non-profit organizations’ office • Administrative or office experience Training Provided: Training is provided by a task or project basis from the coordinator or manager asking for support.
