We, Foundation for Advancement of Education in Myanmar, abbreviated as FAE-Myanmar, are a grassroots charity foundation, registered in the province of Alberta, Canada, funded and supported by the grassroots community members of Canadians from diverse origins along with Myanmar Canadians.

FAE-Myanmar is striving to contribute to, engage in Diplomacy of Knowledge, as articulated by Governor General David Johnston – sharing learning and lived experience of our Skilled Highly Qualified Canadian Volunteer Educators across borders- for short term deployment to facilitate Complementary Education Programs that prepare and inspire teachers  in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education to prepare their school children from the non-government underserved, under-resourced community schools in most disadvantaged communities in Myanmar.

Contextual Information

Phaung Daw Oo Monastic Education High School is a registered charity (non-government) inclusive (K-10) high school under Ministry of Religious Affairs in Mandalay, the second commercial capital of Myanmar. The school provides quality accredited education free to over 9,000 students from Kindergarten to High School, and room and board free for over 1000 students of them on campus. The students are from less fortunate families and includes orphans, the abused, the neglected, the abandoned and the vulnerable children of diverse indigenous ethnic groups from all around Myanmar.

Diplomacy of Knowledge

We are recruiting experienced volunteer educators to facilitate school-based Professional Development Programs on Digital Citizenship Education, Entrepreneurship Education, and Maker Education for science teachers of Phaung Daw Oo Community High School in Myanmar.
