British Columbia Rugby Union, commonly known as BC Rugby, is the recognised governing body for Rugby union in the province of British Columbia. We are a Not-For-Profit organisation and one of 60 Provincial Sport Organisations (PSOs) to receive funding from the Provincial Government. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we welcomed over 8,000 individuals to the game and registered 61 community rugby clubs across British Columbia.

Canada’s Largest Street Hockey Festival is Returning to Kelowna! Kelowna is no stranger to Play On!, holding seven events to date since 2010. The event will take place on Water Street in the heart of downtown near Prospera Place, home of the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets. Just steps away from Kelowna’s waterfront Play On! will feature exciting hockey action, interactive games, diverse food and entertainment.
Girl Guides is a catalyst for girls empowering girls. We provide girls age 5-17 with the opportunity to try new experiences, challenge themselves and build their confidence, all within a safe environment. Our volunteers help deliver a unique program that encourages girls to build life skills in outdoor adventure, financial literacy, mental health, advocacy and more. Together, we’re building a better world, by girls.
The Knox Mountain Hill Climb is made possible entirely by our dedicated volunteers. Without them, this historic event simply couldn’t happen. If you’re passionate about motorsports, volunteering at the Knox Mountain Hill Climb is an incredible opportunity to support the community and experience the action up close. We have a variety of roles to fill, including track crew, gate attendants, and event setup and teardown. Join us this May long weekend—we’d be thrilled to have you on the team!
Canada's largest and longest running open water swim. In 2024, the ATLS is being held on Sat, Jul 20 and has added a shorter swim (1.4k) to go with the main Swim (2.1k). Any profits from the Swim go to funding the Drownproofing 101 (aka all grade 3 kids in SD23 receive free swim lessons). We look for volunteers mostly for the Finish Line area at City Park's Hot Sands Beach (at concession building) to assist swimmers in leaving the water, removing their race chips, and checking their gear. There will be a signup link for volunteers for all of the ATLS group of swims held in July & August on the website soon.

At Volunteer Kelowna, we take pride in linking people with local nonprofit community organizations, supporting persons with disabilities, new Canadians, corporations and professionals connect to organizations in and around the city, helping individuals develop skills to advance their careers, and developing knowledge resources that support effective and efficient volunteer capacity.
We are a local Chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD Canada), a charitable, grassroots organization that is committed to stopping impaired driving and supporting the victims of this violent crime. MADD Canada strives to offer support services to victims/survivors, heighten awareness about the dangers of alcohol and/or drug-impaired driving, and to save lives and prevent injuries on our roads. Our Chapter is focused on promoting MADD’s objectives in the Central Okanagan. Among other things, we: organize and attend local events to raise awareness of the dangers of impaired driving. conduct local campaigns to reduce impaired driving, including the Campaign 911 signs featured on roads throughout our community. support local victims/survivors of impaired driving by providing emotional support, referrals to service providers, and information to help deal with the criminal justice process.
