The Gutsy Walk is Crohn's and Colitis Canada's annual fundraising event which will be held virtually this year. Committee roles include Media Promotion Lead, Sponsorship Lead, and Digital leads. Crohn’s and Colitis Canada volunteers, in partnership with staff, are making a difference in the lives of children and adults living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Our coast-to-coast network of thousands of volunteers are leaders in their communities, using the gift of time and talents to help people with inflammatory bowel disease by providing professional skills, educating others, advocating for healthy public policy and helping to raise money so that Crohn’s and Colitis Canada can continue to fund critical research, patient programs, advocacy and awareness initiatives.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.

Cool Arts is dedicated to providing fine arts opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities living in the Central Okanagan. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves through the arts. We also believe that disabilities should not interfere with this choice. Community Care Durham (CCD) is a multi-service registered charitable organization providing a broad range of support services for individuals over the age of 16 and their caregivers so that people are enabled to maximize their independence and thrive where they choose to live.

The Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) is a vital force in the fight against food insecurity, proudly serving as one of the largest food aid organization in British Columbia with two locations (Kelowna and West Kelowna). For over 40 years, we have been providing innovative solutions to hunger, providing nutritional food assistance to over 120,000 people each year, 44% of whom are children and youth, while another 19% are seniors living on a fixed income. We serve all individuals regardless of age, race, sex, marital status, ethnicity, language, disability, or health issue and are the only organization providing this level of nutritional support to households facing financial and food insecurity within the surrounding region. Our purpose extends beyond providing meals. COFB’s "More Than Food" program empowers people by offering resources and education to break the cycle of poverty, helping new clients, including immigrant families, find stability. Additionally, through the Food For Thought Program, we partner with School District #23 to provide essential meal support to over 1,200 children weekly. Examples of Volunteer Tasks: 1. Market shopping: where you will build hampers and shop for our clients as well as help stock the area. 2. Dry sorting: Where you will go through donations for quality control and date checks. 3. General cleaning: All can lend a helping hand with general cleaning in all areas of the food bank. 4. Food Rescue: Sustainability initiative for client access to fresh produce. Includes quality control and hamper building. As well as restocking. 5. Restocking: Restocking areas in the market to ensure quick accessibility to client products. Liver disease affects children, women and men with equal and sometimes fatal consequences. Today, 1 in 4 Canadians may be affected by liver disease and many don’t even know it. Tragically, by the time liver disease is detected it is often too late as severe liver damage has already occurred. Founded in 1969, the Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) was the first organization in the world devoted to providing support for research and education into the: - Causes - Diagnoses - Prevention - Treatment of all liver diseases. The CLF is the only non-government organization funding all forms of liver disease research in Canada; unfortunately in any given year we are only able to fund 20% of all qualified research grant applications we receive. Imagine, if any of those unfunded projects had the answers to early diagnosis, treatment or the cures we are looking for. We are looking for passionate volunteers to join our effort in raising awareness of liver disease, as well as funds to deliver: - Free public education programs - Support life-saving research.
