Canadian Cancer Society (Site and Route Lead – CIBC Run for the Cure)

You are passionate about the breast cancer cause, well-connected in your community, and enjoy event planning. The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has a positive attitude, communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of self-motivation and time management. Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following responsibilities is considered an asset. As the volunteer Route & Site Lead, you will be responsible for: Creating a 1k and 5k route. Being the liaison with police, security, and traffic management to ensure a safe route and ensuring all permits are submitted and approved. Creating an impactful start and finish line/area for the event. Booking the venue and all logistical suppliers working with your Run Director, Logistics, and staff partner. Creating a site plan for event day. Executing set up and tear down Overseeing all route/site tasks This is a 6-month commitment (May through October). Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly). Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 2-4 hours per month).
